Do you really know them ?
This week, I want to talk about truly knowing others. I know it might sound boring, but I promise it isn't. We meet a lot of people throughout our lives, but how well do we really know them? Most of the time, we only see what others want to show us. And that's exactly the point—sometimes, we actually know nothing at all. It makes sense, though. No one wants to appear vulnerable in front of others.
Now, let me share a personal story. Last week, I went to the mountains with my friend. She is a great person, but we only knew each other from school and had never travelled together before. Neither of us knew what to expect. As classmates, we knew the basics about each other—where we live, what food we like, how many siblings we have. But during this trip, I got to know her on a much deeper level. I learned about what she has been through, the challenges she has overcome, and the strength she carries within her. And even though she would probably kill me for saying this, I have to: I'm proud of her.
So, what's the takeaway from this story? If you truly want to get to know someone, travel with them. When you spend days together in unfamiliar places, you see their true nature—how they handle stress, how they adapt, and what really matters to them. Traveling strips away the masks we wear in daily life and reveals who we really are. It's an experience that can either bring people closer together or show you that maybe, just maybe, you never really knew them at all.
